Poll question: Favorite Baseball Team
Now of course we have the Cubs and the Sox, but many people in Illinois like the Cardinals too. I'll throw in the Brewers just to make it ever more fair.

1. Shouldn't American League teams be exempt from this poll?
I mean, I don't dislike the Sox, but that game that they play over in the AL isn't baseball.

4. I couldn't agree more
I really don't like American League baseball. I think the DH is the worse thing to ever happen to the game, but I wanted to be fair. Technically I shouldn't have added the Brewers either. Can you really call what they do up in Milwaukee baseball? You gotta love Bob Uecker though. One time I was listening to the game up where my parents live in Appleton, WI and the Cubs were pounding the Brewers like 16-3. Uecker threw down his headphones and said "Okay, that's it, I'm going to the bars." He didn't come back for the rest of the game. Could you imagine how cool it would be to be in one of the Wrigleyville bars and have a legend like Uecker sit down next to you. The stories that man has to tell. I wish the Cubs could have pried Uecker away from the Brewers. I'm not looking forward to a season with Breemly as the announcer.

5. At least Milwaukee came to it's senses and back to the NL.
I wish that baseball would go back to the pre-early 60's expansion days. Do we really need 30 teams?

Why can't anybody lay down a bunt anymore?

And baserunning has become a lost art.

Screw steriod enhanced HR totals.

Ahhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!

9. Now that Stoney's gone
I'll be turning down the sound on the TV broadcasts and listening to Pat and Ron on 720 AM. I could tolerate Chip Caray with Steve Stone by his side, but without either of them, what's the point of listening to the TV broadcast when you get just as good, if not better, with Hughes and Santo?

2. .
Well, I guess I will vote for the Cubs since I'm a Red Sox fan. God knows I will be cheering even harder for them now.

12. Yeah, we are coming up on the 100th anniversary of the Cubs
last winning the World Series. People forget that the White Sox aren't that far behind.

8. Cubbies!
It was sort of a blah season this year, but it did my heart a world of good in '03 to see the White Sux and the Cardinals tailspin simultaneously at the end of the season. Last season, too, when the high and mighty Cardinals couldn't grab a single lead in the World Series against a franchise that hadn't won one in 86 years. Personal pet peeve, but it seems that the Cardinals have a disproportionate amount of Jesus freaks on that team than others, too. I can't stand it when an athlete invokes the Deity in a sporting contest. Like God helped hang that curveball in the middle of the strike zone so you could hit the walk-off HR. Gimme a break!

10. I was raised a Cub fan
but married a Cardinal fan. I made a conscious decision to become a Cardinal fan in order to talk to my husband 8 months out of the year!
Actually, I didn't much care for baseball as a kid, but have been a die hard Cards fan for 26 years.
Yet, my son and husband accuse me of being a traitor because I supported the Cubs in '03. I guess you could say I'm a baseball fan!
