Poll question: Where did you go to college?
Hey Illinois DUers, if you attended University or College, where did you go?

For those of you in college right now, be sure to note that. I'm at DePaul University right now.

25. Class of '86 at UIC
When I went there, the school was trying to drop the "Circle" name and go by UIC. In 1988 when I applied there for my MBA, I was turned down. Why? Not because of my 600 GMAT or my 3.8/4 GPA, but because I was a UIC undergrad and they didn't want UIC undergrads in their grad program. Now they're barely staying afloat. That's OK, DePaul was just a few blocks from where I work.

Still, I had some GREAT memories at UIC, met my future husband through some friends, and would not trade that experience for the world. OK. so I had to live at home, but at least mom cooked for me and did the laundry.

The only part that troubled me was that I attended a school whose mascot was a "flame" (UIC Flames), so I guess I went to a "flaming" school?

I don't live in Illinois now, though I often wish I did.

I live in St. Louis, but have trouble thinking of myself as a Missourian. Especially with the state government we have :puke:

Welcome to the Illinois DU forum. I've seen a couple of your posts, but haven't given the official welcome. I'm sure you are busy with the masters program, but I go to DePaul too and I'm part of the DePaul College Democrats. We would love if you came to some of our events. We are just getting started in the Loop campus.

34. SIU-C '99, also attended NIU
One of the best things about NIU in 1994 was opening up the Northern Star and reading the columns of Markos Moulitsas.

But when I decided maybe a BFA in Acting wasn't the best idea, I transferred to Southern.
