I guess those photos of him grinning with Rove and others aren't helping him. His comment regarding Cook County having corrupt elections the other day really turned me off. You don't "go" in your own nest!

2. Thanks, this is a pretty good read
It struck me as a little amateurish. I haven't read this Neil Steinberg guy before. Overall he brings up some humorous observations. The best part I think is that Steinberg is under the impression that Obama asked some rock hard questions where as some DUers in GD were trashing Obama for being weak.

3. I Don't Like Steinberg Much, Either
He's mildly amusing at times, but i don't really think much of him. I think he's a liberterian so everyone's the enemy. I only read the Suntimes on plane rides. I get the Trib at home, and since the Suntimes runs Novak, Hart, et al, i avoid it. But, since most plane rides are taking place after i've already read the Trib, it's Suntimes for me.

4. Steinberg is a professional idiot
He says things just for the sake of being controversial. I believe he got in hot water a while back for writing a column about the woman who had most recently accused William Kennedy Smith of sexual assault, implying that she wasn't attractive enough to be raped. He also has a weird obsession with Dick Durbin--absolutely *hates* Dick Durbin for reasons he doesn't seem to be able to articulate. If I were Obama, I'd consider it a compliment to be insulted by this nimrod.

6. That column was bizarre and annoying
If you're going to write a column about Obama then just write a freaking column about Obama! What was with the constant random insertion of unrelated comments? It read like it was written by an ADD child who likes to gossip.

I don't know who Eddie Haskell is so the reference has no meaning to me anyway. I guess its a generational thing.

Its funny that another poster mentioned the columnists dislike of Dick Durbin. Steve Neal always wrote columns very critical of Durbin, and I otherwise liked his columns a lot. I wonder if the Sun-Times has a thing against Durbin?
