Mr. Jack Family Values Ryan, Illinois Republican Candidate for the US senate, apparently will withdraw this afternoon after national stories depicting his love of bondage and public sex with his ex-wife, while running on an ultra-conservative christian family values platform.

rumors are all, but not a surprise.

Pity. It would have been entertaining to watch the debates.

Rauschenberger? I've met him. He has all of the personal charisma of a 2 by 4. He's a smart man, but I don't think he could make a respectable showing as a State-wide candidate.

Don't confuse being anti ILLEGAL immigration with being against immigration. Our folk on the left often confuse the two things and end up alienating centrists.

The level of immigration is a legitamite topic. And illegal immigration IS a big problem.

Being on the left is NOT incompatible with being against illegal immigration. One needs only go to Europe where the left is often outright AGAINST large immigration levels PERIOD.

It's not xenophobic to insist that someone enter your house via the FRONT door after knocking. Those who enter your house without consent are trespassing.

The Republicans will try to find some way to remove him from the ticket. Very likely, they'll bribe him into withdrawing via 3rd parties.

He hasn't DENIED the allegations. He only says they're not illegal or against the ten commandments. That means they're true. But somehow I don't think that fundies want their candidates participating in Soddom and Gommorah style sex parties.

Personally, I don't care who Jack Ryan fucks or where and how he did it as long as no children or animals are involved. But hypocrisy is the biggest political sin in my book. And Jack Ryan is a hypocrite via participating with prudish "christian values" groups.
