On another front, Daley was critical of Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry for refusing to cross a picket line in Boston over the weekend but had words of praise for President Bush and Monday's transfer of power in Iraq.

Those attending a meeting of the U.S. Conference of Mayors in Boston, including Daley, did not get to see Kerry because the candidate would not cross an informational picket line set up by the union representing Boston police officers, Daley said.

"These mayors came from all over," he said. "They came to state and his city, and it was a little disappointing. But you have to make choices and he made a choice not to cross an informal--informal, informal--picket."

"I have to give credit to President Bush for turning over ," he said. "A lot of naysayers said it couldn't happen."

Now there is a possibility that Iraq will join Israel as the only democracies in the Middle East, Daley said.

I had a business lunch with a client and his attorney, Michael Daley of Daley and George. You should have heard him talk glowingly of the great progress we were making in Iraq and what a good job the pResident was doing.

I don't think he will, but I'm hoping.

And I also hope Kerry keeps Fitzgerald in Chicago, although that might be unlikely too.

People like Daley are about as far from my idea of the dem party as can be.

I THINK it belongs to the junior senator from the state. Fitzgerald was actually nominated by Fitzgerald. So the question really is this:
Will Senator Obama commit to keeping Fitzgerald?
