3. All the info I could find
on Thursday, he will visit the Chicago area to address the Northeastern Illinois Public Training Academy in Glenview. At the academy, he is expected to speak about homeland security.

During the Illinois visit, the president plans to help raise funds for Victory 2004, the Republican National Convention's state effort to help with federal candidates. Victory 2004 in Illinois is headed by former Governor Jim Edgar, and the dinner will be hosted by Patrick Ryan, a Winnetka businessman.

Also visited the site which is usually useful for listing protests, The Citizens For Legitimate Government, but they only have a heads up, no protest listed

4. Not sure on time but location is...
NIPSTA is between Shermer Rd. and Patriot Blvd. just south of Willow road. If you wanna Mapquest that, it's 2300 Patriot Blvd, Glenview, IL.

There will be no chance of getting close, as anyone whose tried to protest this President knows.

You might be able to luck out picking a spot on a major road and hoping to be along the route? Perhaps the Willow Road exit of the TriState? It's hit or miss.

5. More Info for Y'All
I just got this from the Lee Goodman campaign. Lee Goodman is the Democratic candidate for the 10th Congressional district for Illinois.

) SPECIAL NOTICE - GREET PRESIDENT BUSH. On his way to a fundraiser in Winnetka, President Bush will stop in Glenview this Thursday, July 22 to attend the dedication of the Northeastern Illinois Public Safety Training Academy on Patriot Boulevard. Those of us who would like to make our views known will assemble for a rally and speeches at 2:30 p.m. at Navy Park, which is located at the corner of Tower Drive and Navy Boulevard in the new Glenview Town Center (commonly known as The Glen). The park is across the street from the Galyans, Book Market, and Von Maur stores. There is plenty of on-street and garage parking, or take the Metra train to "The Glen at North Glenview" train station and walk one-half mile west on West Lake Avenue to the rally. Navy Park was chosen as the location for the rally because the training academy is surrounded by a security fence and will be totally inaccessible to the public and the President may arrive in a helicopter.

We have a permit from Glenview. The rally is being coordinated in cooperation with Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky and Lee Goodman will be a featured speaker. Bring signs, bring your friends, and wear your Goodman campaign T-shirt. This may be the last time Bush is in our area as President. We want a big crowd. Let's make sure the President knows how people around here feel about his and Mark Kirk's policies.

8. From a Kerry Chicago site
BUSH IN CHICAGO
Thursday, July 22
Glenview 2:30-5pm

We'll be meeting at
Navy Park, on Patriot Blvd,
btwn W. Lake and Willow

We need folks in Glenview on Thursday for a peaceful protest against President Bush's policies! He'll be speaking at a Police Training Ceremony and we need to let him know Chicagoland doesn't agree with Bush's policies.

We'll need people in the demonstration area at 2:30 p.m. at Navy Park, which is located at the corner of Tower Drive and Navy Boulevard in the new Glenview Town Center (commonly known as The Glen). The park is across the street from the Galyans, Book Market, and Von Maur stores. There is plenty of on-street and garage parking, or take the Metra train to "The Glen at North Glenview" train station and walk one-half mile west on West Lake Avenue to the rally.

We have a permit from Glenview. The rally is being coordinated in cooperation with Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky and Lee Goodman will be a featured speaker. Bring signs, bring your friends, and wear your Goodman campaign T-shirt. This may be the last time Bush is in our area as President

Come on everybody, this is about Regime Change in November and spoiling Karl Rove’s photo-op is worth taking a couple of hours off work!

Please widely circulate this e-mail to all Chicagoland Democratic grassroots organizations.

Bring your own signs! Examples would be:

Stop Cutting Funding for First Responders
Clinton +100k Police / Bush –20k Police
Tax Cut for Rich = Less Police on the Street
Help Police & Firefighters – Plant a Bush in Texas
American Military Overstretched
Draft the Chickenhawks
Restore Dignity to the White House
Firefighters First Up the Stairs – Last on Bush’s Priorities
W Opens Firehouses in Baghdad – Closes in Brooklyn
Invest in Homeland Security
Kerry Friend of First Defenders
Bush AWOL on Port Security
Stay on message. The Bush team wants a police photo-op. We need to make sure the media covers how Bush is gutting the funding for homeland security and first responders! Bring your Kerry signs also.

Go to Kerry’s homepage under the homeland security section so you are aware of Kerry’s positions on funding homeland security in case the media talk to you.

Details will be posted tomorrow about where to meet on Thursday on ChicagolandforKerry.com. For more information, contact Daniel at Evanstondems@yahoo.com

10. that's 8 dopey looking RWers
what a pathetic bunch! carrying their bc 04 banner, bleating "4 more years." to which we all replied, "4 more MONTHS!" they made 2 circuits of the rally and evaporated. obviously could not afford to go to the hoity toity event. one had a "michael moore is a big fat liar" sign. he had no room to talk on the big fat front. morans.
it was a small but nice rally, about 100 people. many of them actually from the burbs. got to meet christine cegalis. and i stand corrected on my earlier statements that i thought hyde had had a close race in '02. he had no competition in '02, but had a real opponent in '00, who got 41% of the vote. she seems like a great candidate, a dean dozener. so, go on over, and drop a couple of bucks.

12. quite an interesting development.
it is a redevelopment of the old air base, and based on a city/downtown kind of a space. street level retail, and upper level housing, streets through the mall space. something completely different, for sure.
