Bush* coming to Cedar Rapids on Tuesday |
|
Supposed to be at Kirkwood Community College according to the local news this morning. Unfortunately I will be at work so will not be able to spend any time in the "Free Speech" zone.

1. I was at the Kerry rally there on the fourth of July. |

I was amazed at how many people showed up in the pouring rain. I know CR is far more conservative than its neighbor to the south, but it also suffers from unemployment and budget cuts. Look for Iowa--at least eastern Iowa--to go blue this election. If we actually have an election, that is.

Which always votes Dem, but since Iowa City has the University of Iowa that's not surprising. I do know some people that voted Bush* in 2000 and will not vote for him again, so there is hope for Iowa.

Now I'm in Omaha--red-state hell. (Though western Nebraskans think Omahans are all, to borrow a phrase from Woody, "left-wing, communist, Jewish, homosexual pornographers.")

The rainforest is great. Supposed to be getting a big rainforest in Coralville in the next few years, that is if the opposition doesn't kill the plans first. I'm looking forward to it myself.

with my 11 year old daughter, who decided she wanted to go and see what a protest is like. We live in Shueyville. Can't pass up a chance to protest b*sh so close to home. We should have a DU corner of the Free Speech Zone.
