Democrats to release Nussle attack ad

Democrats are scheduled to launch an ad campaign attacking U.S. Rep. Jim Nussle today , the same day the Manchester Republican is scheduled to announce plans to run for governor.

The radio spots airing in Des Moines and Dubuque take aim at the eight-term U.S. House member's receipt of $15,000 in campaign contributions last year from House Majority Leader Tom DeLay's federal political action committee.

The ads are sponsored by Campaign for a Congress, a Washington, D.C.-based Democratic group. Des Moines lawyer Gordon Fischer, former chairman of the Iowa Democratic Party, is the state organizer of the campaign, called Iowans for a Cleaner Congress.

"We want Jim Nussle and all of our congressional delegation to bring Iowa values to the Congress, not the current congressional values back to Iowa," Fischer said.

DeLay's PAC gave every IA-Republican member of Congress $$, Nussle ended the race with cash on hand, why wouldn't he give the $$ back? Also, Nussle voted to foil ethics rules 2x to aid DeLay in the ethics probe and Nussle has a 93% record of voting with DeLay.

What party do you represent? It sure isn't the fiscally conservative republican party. No true conservative would spend us into massive debt the way you have. What is the excuse you have to offer us.
