Eyes Wide Open exhibit coming to Iowa next week

Here is information about the Eyes Wide Open exhibit coming to 4 Iowa cities next week. I saw pictures of one of the exhibits in Kansas City and it was very moving. There is a Wage Peace video on the site too that is pretty good.

Eyes Wide Open National Guard Exhibit
Eyes Wide Open, the American Friends Service Committee’s widely-acclaimed exhibition on the human cost of the Iraq War, features a pair of boots honoring each U.S. military casualty, a field of shoes and a Wall of Remembrance to memorialize the Iraqis killed in the conflict, and a multimedia display exploring the history, cost and consequences of the war.

2. Lindsey Park is a short distance from my house

So I'll be there. Hope a lot of people show up, especially since Lindsey Park is in a highly republican part of town. Local repub headquarters are located across the street. And Nussle has an office in the East Village. Perhaps we'll invite them over to the park to check out what they have wrought.

My brother returned from 13 months in IRAQ defusing IEDs. I prayed for him every day. His Guard unit lost two guys. The unit that replaced his has already lost two members. It is civil war over there now. What a waste!

I'm taking my daughter to see what needless sacrifice and tragedy looks like.

Glad your brother made it out alive, but it certainly is too bad about the other people. Four needless deaths. Lets hope your daughter sees this and asks questions and realizes that this invasion was, and is, total bullshit. If you are in Davenport, 6-8 on Monday, July 11. There is a banner up advertising it. Hope to see a lot of folks there.
