Jim Leach hits for a triple before vacation
- He votes in favor of the energy bill that has tons of giveaways for the oil companies so they won't go broke.
- He votes in favor of a bill "reducing the excessive burden the liability system places on the health care delivery system" (limit law suit liability?)
- And he tops it off by being the deciding vote for CAFTA!!!

For those who think ol' Jim's a moderate, it sure is getting hard to distinguish him from a regular old republican anymore. Of course he only votes with DeLay 85% of the time.
I'm thinking maybe the second district is in need of some new representation.

1. Definitely. The most important vote he ever makes is for Hastert, Delay,
etc. for leadership of and control of the House. That vote alone is enough of a reason for him to be gone.

2. Not from Iowa anymore
I never voted for him when I lived there. Suspicious of a congressperson named Leach, should be spelled "Leech".

3. Just want folks who may have voted for Leach
thinking he was a moderate, to know who Leach really represents.

4. He's not in our district anymore
and thats when I lost respect for him. He moved from Davenport to Iowa City so Nussle and him wouldn't have a primary battle. He was a moderate at one time, but sounds like he's toeing the party line now. Good luck unseating him though. If he can win out there, in arguably the most liberal part of our great state, then he may be nearly unbeatable. Who's going to step up and run against him?

5. lost respect
I used to respect Leach for sticking to his old school Rockefeller Republican ways. Now he's just looking like another Republican puppet.

6. Looks like David Loebsack!
David Loebsack will likely be running against Jim Leach on 2006; here's his website. I believe he will be making an official announcement in the coming weeks. I'm sure support would be greatly appreciated!

7. Good to hear there's some opposition a-brewin'
I've heard Loebsack speak and his views sure seem to be much more in line with this district. Leach is just another vote for DeLay.
I'd say it's about time for Leach to be sent home and we get some one to truly represent the second district.
That CAFTA vote just stunk!
