Oreo Mobile visits CR this Wednesday! (Sept 14)
True Majority's
"Oreo Mobile"

Wednesday, September 14, 2005

6:30 PM

Peace Center parking lot

1029 3rd Street SE

Cedar Rapids

Affectionately called the "OreoMobile" by its creator, Ben Cohen, co-founder of Ben and Jerry's™, the 12-foot stacks of giant Oreo cookies, towed on a flatbed trailer, represent how much of our federal taxes go to education, kids healthcare, job training, the Pentagon, and more.

In 15-minute shows in towns across the country, using the giant Oreos as props, OreoMobile driver Aaron Rubin demonstrates how the American people, including the citizens of Iowa, want their federal taxes spent and how this squares with how Congress currently allocates its budget.
The OreoMobile show explains how Congress can easily and safely realign its federal spending priorities with those of the citizens of Iowa and the American people.

And the show demonstrates how sweet this shift in federal spending would be for the people of Iowa.

Hope to see some of you there!

Psst...pass it on...

-Maggie

2. I was in Iowa City
and the Oreo Mobile was parked outside the hotel where I was staying.

Anyway, on a tangent: I went down for the hotel's free breakfast buffet (stale bagels, bad coffee, and crummy muffins). When I walked into the hotel's break room, Bushler was addressing the U.N. (I think). The instant I saw him on the tube, I groaned outloud, "Oh god, not that asshole. What a horrible way to start the day."

Some overweight white guy and his old lady were sitting there, and heard what I said. The old guy said, "Well he is YOUR president. You should walk in his shoes." YOUR president. Why do the morons insist on shoving the chimp down a person's throat? They worship the guy and any insult to him is an insult they take personally. Culty shit, that.

The old guy left and his old lady was finishing her O.J. So I asked the desk lady if I could change the channel. Sure, she says.

I change the channel and the guy's old lady gets all huffy. She was leaving anyway, so what does she care.

I said to the old lady: what is he saying that is new or inspiring? It's all just terror, fear, be afraid, terror fear terror, Jesus, be afraid terror terror terror.

She says well I voted for him. Yeah, I bet you did.

I can't take the robots anymore. What will it take to wake the stupid people up? 9.11 didn't. The lies about the WMDs didn't. The shitty response to the hurricane didn't. The looted treasury didn't. They are HOPELESS!
