Boswell tumor diagnosed non-malignant

WASHINGTON, DC - Physicians have determined that an abdominal tumor removed from Rep. Leonard Boswell, 3rd District Democrat, was non-malignant, it was announced Wednesday.

“The surgery was a complete success and we were able to remove what tests have now confirmed was a non-cancerous, minimally-aggressive tumor in his abdomen,” Boswell’s unidentified physician said in a statement released by press secretary Eric Witte.

“I am feeling better and better every day, and I am eager to get back on the job full time,” Boswell said.

.....

Boswell had surgery in December 2004 for the removal of his appendix and gallbladder, a month after he was re-elected to a fifth term from the Des Moines-dominated, 12-county 3rd District. Boswell said after his latest surgery that he intends to run for re-election.
