What the hell is Chuck Grassley's (R-IA) problem?
Yesterday the posters on DU made it sound like Kyra Phillips backed him up against the wall and got in his face, prompting him to try to end the interview.

Watching the clip over at CrooksandLiars, she seemed calm, cool, and collected. I think she asked a perfectly fair question, and I don't think she unfairly put him on the spot. He acted like she was out of bounds.

What do you think?

Clip's about halfway down.

1. I saw it yesterday. Greensly was taken aback to say the least--like he
was insulted to be asked honest questions. poor baby.

2. He acts like her saying, "Good Morning," would make him feel attacked
by the loony left wing elitist media -- he acted like anything he said to her was going to be read from a transcript in a trial at the Hague or something. Really strange. Maybe he's trying to defend the Republican do-nothing action plan by being hear-nothing say-nothing.

3. looked like a senility moment to me
seemed like she was very professional and in no way argumentative, I would have liked to hear a little of the preceeding conversation to be certain.

Has anyone asked him about his nay vote with respect to energy assistance when many republican collegues such as Coleman voted yay?

5. What action needs to be taken to help the people in Florida
He said he won't create policy on television and tried to stop the interview.

She schmoozed him a little and got him to admit he could make a phone call or two. (that's my paraphrasing there).

6. I think the key is when early in the interview Grass-smoker said
"this will take some thought". Well that's certainly not his job. He's a Republican. He hires people to think for him so he can have time to cut his own grass. He'll check at Halliburton and see if they have any thinkers available. As soon as two or three are freed up for him to use, he will have them carefully think this problem over for him and then they will formulate a policy for him. I believe H-burton charges a mere $2500/hour for this service - a true bargain given their background in governmental affairs. I think they helped Chuckles think up the rain-forest-in-the-cornfield.
BTW, don't bother Chuck if you can't afford heat this winter. His answer to that is called operation July. If you just wait by July you'll be bitching about the heatA real American would save some of that heat til January.
"Heat, eat or my great drug plan?" asks Chuckles the Grass.
