It worked. Congrats to Willard Jenkins for a distinguished career. And see ya. In actuality, I don't know anything about him. Hope he enjoys his retirement.

2. Democrats in Waterloo will enjoy his retirement! |
|
We've been trying to get him out of office for ten years.
He's a pleasant person who doesn't do any dirty campaigning (that I'm aware of....) but he votes with the Iowa GOP consistently, no matter how his vote affects his constituency (which by the way it is questionable who his constituency is since he has never lived in the district he represents - I think he has an apartment address listed w/in the district, but that's not his residence. Rules Schmules I guess).
David Odekirk ran against Jenkins in 2004 and I would love to see David run again in 2006. (He's a young Democrat trial lawyer from Waterloo).
This is good news for Black Hawk County Democrats.

3. Williard is 68 and that is too old to put up with Rants |
|
Jenkins is a retired engineer from Deere. He was too logical to get along with Chrs Rants. Jenkins is closer to the old school Republicans who were for good government on a modest scale. His retirement was anticipated 2 years ago because of the garbage in Des Moines.
Dems have a shot at his seat. Yeah! Just a couple more swing seats in the "D" column and Chis Rants can join Saddam in the former dictator turned actor line of work.
