7. Whew!
I do have to get some work today (and my blood pressure can't handle another day of that garbage).

What upsets me most about this whole ordeal is that we (Democrats) are letting our party down. What do republicans do at the first sign of an attack on one of their own?

1. Defend
2. Research
3. Attack the attacker
4. Run for the hills (if the allegations end up being true)

What have Democrats done with the Abramoff scandal?

1. Attack the named Democrats without doing any independent research

I don't know if a Democrat or two will get snagged in this net of corruption, but I do know that I'm a Democrat first and I will defend Democrats until they either no longer need it or it's proven that they've done something wrong.

Tom Harkin has done nothing wrong, the other 100-some-odd Democrats on the list probably haven't done anything wrong (in this scandal, Joe Lieberman) so why don't we defend first and ask questions later?

8. I know
One thing the Republicans have done and continue to do well is defend and spin. The Dems in general have done a poor job at defending our own ever since Clinton was attacked for monica-gate.

I don't know what it is, if its the fact that we are the "big tent" and therefore have a lot more diverse (and sometimes conflicting or competing) views or what, but we really need to learn how to close ranks and hold the ground we gain.

I would hate to see our opportunity to point out corruption in the Republican party squandered and the result of all of this be nothing more than increased apathy in the voting process!

10. I'm late - anything happenin'?
Hooking Harkin to Abramoff is like hooking Bush to competence. No connection.
