Hey Iowans, where do you stand on the political spectrum?
Got 5 minutes? Then take this political test to see where you stand, what historic politcians you are most like, and where others who hold similar voting patterns stand. You don't need to register to take the test and see the results.

http://www.okcupid.com/politics

I was a lot more liberal than I thought was. I am s Social Liberal (63% permissive)and an Economic Liberal (10% permissive). But then I spent all day listening to Air America before I took the test, so my blood was pretty boiling at test time. :grr:

So where do you stand?

8. Politics test
As you can see by my "name", not surprisingly, I was designated a socialist.

Don't be surprised if you are named a socialist, you might just be one.

Among other things, democratic socialists believe that economic democracy is just as important as political democracy.

Concrete example: a profitable plant like Maytag in Newton being closed, by people in private, making decisions for private gain, but with very public consequences. Who gave these guys the right to decide to throw lots of Iowans out of work? Our economic system...

14. Actually the complete quote...
is - the love of money is the root of all evil. Only the greed. Not the money itself. Money is just an inanimate tool, incapable of moral right or wrong, like guns.

17. I tell my parishioners this all the time--
"love of money", not "money". I also tell them that the Bible never says "God helps those who help themselves". They don't believe me.

Which bugs me, because the word socialist is ambiguous. Libertarian socialist. Two ambiguous words put together to define me even more ambiguously! Deep down, I'm just a lazy anarchist.

Kidding. Apparently, I'm a "strong Democrat"

I think I'll send this to a couple Repubes and see how they rank. I bet they aren't as conservative as they think.

ON EDIT: I just retook it as a republican would and got the expected 'you are best described as a republican'. Interestingly, it also had the same blurb that I got as a strong Democrat, "You exhibit a very well-developed sense of Right and Wrong and believe in economic fairness. Hmmmm.

My marker sits between the photo of HRC (I think that's who it is) and Ghandi, so I'm satisfied with those results. Thanks to pstans for psting this. My family will have fun with this - comparing profiles and competing for the most liberal scores.
