Sarah Benzing is coming back to Iowa and working for Bruce Braley!!

Welcome, Sarah Benzing, our new Campaign Manager

I’m thrilled to announce the hiring of my campaign manager, Sarah Benzing. Sarah is a proven winner who just finished working as Tim Kaine’s Field Director in his successful race to become Governor of Virginia. Sarah was cited by MSNBC as one of the eight most influential people not on the ballot in 2002 for her innovative absentee voting initiative that helped keep Sen. Harkin and Governor Vilsack in office.

Sarah has strong ties to Northeast Iowa. She graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a degree in Political Science, served as a Black Hawk County precinct chair, worked on a legislative race in Buchanan County, served as a field organizer in Waterloo for Al Gore, was Canvass Director for the Iowa Coordinated Campaign, and served as Caucus Director for Sen. Bob Graham’s presidential bid.

Sarah is very excited to join the Braley Team and will be looking forward to meeting each of you in the near future. Please join me in welcoming her back where she belongs!

Personal note here: I've known Sarah for years ever since she was practically living in our office (and at times slept at our house) during the 1999-2000 caucus season. She is such a hard worker and go getter and never say die individual. (and she can't say a bad thing about anybody!). This is a GOOD catch for Braley but more important it's a GREAT catch for Iowa.
