Habitat for Humanity ReStore opening in CR area
Cedar Valley Habitat for Humanity's ReStore will host a grand opening on Thursday, January 19 at its new location, 725 North Center Point Road, Hiawatha. The public is invited to attend the 1:00p.m. ribbon cutting followed by tours of the facility, light refreshments, and drawings for prizes.

ReStore is a retail facility providing overstocked, discontinued, new, and used building materials donated by manufacturers, businesses, contractors, and individuals. Restore sells the items to the general public at a discounted rate helping customers save up to 70 percent of the cost of new or used materials while, in turn, helping the community. ReStore has set a goal to divert 150 tons of waste that would normally go to the landfill.

All income generated from the ReStore is used to support Cedar Valley Habitat for Humanity's house-building efforts. Contributions to the ReStore may be deductible for income tax purposes.

ReStore is open Thursday and Friday, 9:00a.m.-5:30p.m. and Saturday, 9:00a.m.-3p.m. Call ReStore at 294-1500 if you have a donation or would like to volunteer.

1. Thank you for the info!
I am working as a co-chair for a Neighborhood Revitalization committee that was activated through the "Fifteen in 5" community planning project.

We are working through ideas that would allow residents of some key neighborhoods to refurbish their homes (in some cases just to meet city codes), with help from neighborhood associations. One of the obstacles is the price of building goods. I will make sure that everyone on the committee is aware of this option and see if it is something we can use.

Thanks!

2. Has anyone visited?
I was looking at my backyard and have (finally) figured out where I want my herb garden. I want to line it with pavers or bricks & was wondering if the Restore had any. Anyone know?
