|
What do things look like in Iowa? Does it seem like Kerry can win Iowa?

2. Here in eastern Iowa its almost a certainty |
|
Although there are a few holdouts. Western Iowa, west of Des Moines, however, can be another story altogther. Haven't been out that way for quite some time, but they are traditionally conservative out there. But overall, it looks like John can Kerry Iowa. Sorry, just couldn't resist the lousy humor.

3. My Local paper reported |

that between Jan.1 and Oct.1 there were 71,897 new voters. 48,568 new Democrats, 16,671 independents and 6,489 new Republicans. I'd say it was looking good. No link. This came from the Statehouse bureau chief for Lee Enterprises newspapers.

I'm in Washington but I've been to Des Moines a few times, and everyone there is very kind.
Keep working hard and pushing for turnout, and know how grateful all of us blue states are for your incredible efforts!

lots of positive signs though....to date, Dems have signed up in the neighborhood of 42,000-45,000 more new registrations than Repugs have.
Went to a training session today, for canvassers, poll watchers, etc... for volunteers at JK headquarters today in Des Moines (for Polk County). I would guess that there was about 500-600 volunteers there. A lot of buzz and excitement on the ground. We're gettin' some serious ground pounders out over the next week and a half.
Eastern Iowa, particularly the more populous areas along the river and around Iowa City, look pretty good. Polk county has a lot of repugs in the suburbs, but traditionally goes DEM..if we do what it looks like we can do, with all the ground pounders getting it on with the GOTV efforts, we ought to deliver Polk...hopefully Sioux County, which is in the west and traditionally goes repug can have enough of a DEM GOTV effort to mute their effect.
Its not a slam dunk, but its looking good.
