Central Iowa Construction and Building Trades endorse Culver

DES MOINES, IA - Secretary of State Chet Culver has collected the endorsement of the Central Iowa Building Trade Council for his bid for the Democratic nomination for governor.

The Building Trade Council represents 5,000 workers in 17 different union locals. Culver and former Department of Economic Development head Michael Blouin have been dividing most of the endorsements from labor groups, a key Democratic constituency.

"Chet Culver is the strongest candidate to beat Jim Nussle and the Republicans this fall," said Tom Gillespie, secretary-treasury of the Council.
