Phone Harkin
I just phoned Tom's Washington office -- (202) 224-3254 -- and learned from a staffer that the Senator has not yet decided if he will join the filibuster on Alito. If this is something you want him to do, you might want to give his office a call and voice your opinion.

Des Moines Office -- (515) 284-4574
Cedar Rapids Office -- (319) 365-4504
Davenport Office -- (563) 322-1338
Dubuque Office -- (563) 582-2130
Sioux City Office -- (712) 252-1550

6. Done
I didn't at first because our Iowa area is fairly active and I really want Tom to hear from those he represents because I think it will hold more weight that way.

I just called Harkin's DSM office.

I didn't say much. I just said that I wanted to strongly suggest to
Harkin that he must stand up and filibuster Alito.

The person on the phone took my info and thanked me for my opinion.

I hope it helps...

My thinking is...Harkin is one of the few die-hard progressives in the Senate. He was Wellstone's best friend, for God's sakes. If we can't count on Harkin to filibuster...who will???
