VIlsack's PAC Takes In 1.6M, Spends 496K (Natl. Journal Hotline On Call)

Heartland PAC, chaired by IA Gov. Tom Vilsack, raised more than $1.6M in '06, spending a third of what was raised on travel, donor prospecting and staff, according to disbursements filed with the IRS.

Heartland is not a federal PAC; it solicits money only for races within states and can accept individual donations of any size.

A $100K check was written by Lewis Cullman, a New York venture capitalist and major party fundraiser. The PAC ended the year with more than 1M CoH.

According to Politicalmoneyline.com, Heartland PAC "paid Blue State Digital more than $67,000 for website work. They paid Dewey Square Group almost $125,000 for consulting, rent, travel, insurance and other operating expenses. They have also contributed a total of $65,000 to party committees in Iowa, Kansas and New Jersey."

Vilsack's 527-PAC has been recruiting and hiring staff all over the US to work on 2006 races....Yeah, right :eyes: All for the good of the Party. :sarcasm:

Anyone know what of this amount the Governor will spend in Iowa this fall? I sure hope the current administration goes all out to keep Terrace Hill blue.

If Blouin is the nominee he may give some, but Vilsack is spending money in states where he wants a jump-start for 2008. Lets all look back to the 2002 race...how much money did John Edwards dump into Iowa????
