Ag secretary bows out of governor race

DES MOINES, IA - Iowa Agriculture Secretary Patty Judge announced today that she is withdrawing as a candidate for governor and signing on to be the running mate of now former Democratic rival Chet Culver.

"I am proud to stand with my friend in support of his campaign, and I am honored to join him in making his vision a reality for all Iowans," Judge told a Statehouse news conference.

Culver, in his second term as Iowa secretary of state, accepted Judge's endorsement and announced that he has asked Judge to join his campaign as a candidate for lieutenant governor.

I had heard talk that Fallon and Judge should have teamed together, but after Ed pointed out her fundraising from Big Ag companies that idea probably went out the window.
