From ICAN (iowa citizen's action network) Protest Bush!
PARTICIPATE IN *OUR* DEMOCRACY: RALLY, DEMONSTRATE, MAKE SIGNS

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Demonstrate with fellow Iowans against the Bush/Nussle Budget when
President Bush comes to Des Moines on April 11.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Rally for Iowa's Priorities

When: 4:00 to 6:15pm -- Tuesday, April 11th

Where: Nollen Plaza (3rd Ave & Locust St), Des Moines

Please join the Coalition for Iowa's Priorities on Tuesday, April 11th, for a rally to protest the

policies of the Bush/Nussle Federal Budget which cuts vital services and programs to give

massive tax cuts to the wealthy. On April 11th, President Bush will join Congressman Nussle

at a fundraiser in Des Moines and you are invited to send a clear message that their priorities

are NOT Iowa's priorities. Following speeches, rally participants will march to the free speech

zone to demonstrate during the fundraiser attended by President Bush.

(Nollen Plaza is located at 3rd Avenue and Locust Street in Downtown Des Moines across

3rd Street from the Des Moines Civic Center. Convenient parking is located in the municipal

ramp between 3rd Avenue and 4th Street on Grand Avenue.)

Sign Making Party for Bush Visit Demonstrations!

Sponsored by American Friends Service Committee & Iowa Citizen Action Network

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When: 5:15 to 6:30pm -- Monday, April 10
Where: Trinity United Methodist Church, 8th & College, Des Moines
(enter from College Street)
--President Bush will be in Des Moines on Tuesday, April 11. Iowans will have an opportunity
to demonstrate their disapproval of the Bush administration's policy agenda: health care,
Social Security, education, agriculture, environment, corporate accountability, tax cuts, the
war in Iraq, etc.
--Standing with fellow Iowans in demonstration is an honorable and important act of participation
in OUR democracy.
--To celebrate this participation, ICAN and AFSC will host a sign making party for individuals
and groups planning to participate in demonstrations during the President's visit.
--The event is open to anyone interested in making signs that hold President Bush and other
elected officials accountable for their policies or to advocate for changes in public policy.
--Some sign making materials will be provided, but people are also encouraged to bring
additional supplies.
--Refreshments will be provided (participants are also welcome to bring items to share)
