1. Here is what he said
Rep. Steve King of Iowa has written a blistering broadside against the planned National Day Without Immigrants. He sent out a column to newspapers in his congressional district that dubs the May 1 event 'Nothing Gringo Day' and 'Bite The Hand That Feeds You Day.'"

"What would that May 1st look like without illegal immigration? There would be no one to smuggle across our southern border the heroin, marijuana, cocaine, and methamphetamines that plague the United States, reducing the U.S. supply of meth that day by 80 percent. The lives of 12 U.S. citizens would be saved who otherwise die a violent death at the hands of murderous illegal aliens each day. Another 13 Americans would survive who are otherwise killed each day by uninsured drunk driving illegals. Our hospital emergency rooms would not be flooded with everything from gunshot wounds, to anchor babies, to imported diseases to hangnails, giving American citizens the day off from standing in line behind illegals. Eight American children would not suffer the horror as a victim of a sex crime."

4. Why would any Iowan support that pissant?
If his ass was any tighter, he'd be running around inside-out.

3. Willing to sign on as cosponsor for a bill
that would send him back to where ever his forefolk came from and build a wall around him. One thing about King, he pretty much hates anyone who is not like him equally.
Now would you believe he was created in god's image and likeness? That would be one asshole of a god.

5. You're more correct than you know
>> One thing about King, he pretty much hates anyone who

This includes those more intelligent than him, which includes
most of his district (or any district for that matter).

Anyone know how he dropped out of college due to skirt
chasing?

10. (buries head in hands)
Of all scumbag asshole Republicans, why do I have to be represented by THIS clown?

I mean, I think that we have to do something to stop illegal immigration, and to an extent I agree with him, but saying this kind of shit isn't helping anyone.

13. King plays to his base
I have said it before and I'll say it again, Steve King is a smart guy. He is also a mean vindictive s.o.b., but that plays well in western Iowa. US against THEM, whoever them are works well in enough parts of western Iowa (they LOVE Steve) that he will be the Congressman out there until the next redistricting in 2010, or until he shoots his wad to run for the US Senate against Harkin or to replace Grassley (or both - run against Harkin to build name recognition in 2008, run for Grassley's seat two years later as the front runner).

Newt Gingerich ushered in the era of "nasty" partisanship. Talk radio and the Fox network took it to the next level. King is good at nasty. Give the man his due. America will eventually get sick of nasty, just like it got sick of McCarthyism. We just have to work to make it sooner rather than later.

Let King rant. As they say, "Pride goeth before the fall."
