http://www.kcrg.com/news/local/2743411.htmlWASHINGTON, D.C. - A bipartisan effort by two members of Iowa's Congressional Delegation calls for all U.S. troops to come home from Iraq by December 31st.
In their resolution to Congress, Senate Democrat Tom Harkin and House Republican Jim Leach also call for a guarantee that no permanent U.S. bases be established in Iraq.
President Bush has refused to set a timetable for troop withdrawls. Military officials are currently planning to cut troop levels in Iraq 25% by the end of the year.

While I like the idea, this is just more Leach trying to play the moderate card. This just shows how malleable Leach can be when he is feeling pressure from a real threat for his seat (Dave Loebsack). Let's let this be a reminder to us all that Loebsack will need all of our help in getting his name and message out there for him to FINALLY give us a voice in Congress.
