Feingold's event in Eastern Iowa today
I attended Russ Feingold's events in Clinton and Davenport today. I was able to live blog at the Davenport event. I will post pictures of both events shortly and a more in depth writeup about the Clinton event later on. Check Iowa for Feingold at http://iowafeingold.blogspot.com for more information.

I did get to meet Bluezman also. That is my 2nd person from DU I met this week!

Kyle for Diary of a Political Madman (http://klsnow.blogspot.com) was there and will be posting an in depth review later.

Also, check http://www.russforpresident.com for more coverage as they had someone there as well.

1. It was nice to meet you
Sorry about the hurriedness, but I did tell a friend that I would help him with some grunt work. I really liked what I heard of Feingold today but could have done without the jazz band. I like Jazz as much as anyone, but they could have made an exception just this once. Oh well, it still went pretty good.

I was really impressed. He seemed to really want to hear what we had to say. Everybody told him that the dems needed a backbone.
My thing was that the dems should never apologize. Unfortunately I don't think he knew what I was getting at and I really didn't have a chance to explain what i meant. I just get sick of the pukes fake outrage and the dems backing down.

Ps. I tried to go to the one in Dubuque, but ended up in Wisconsin. Never did find the Democratic headquarters there.

5. DBQ Headquarters can be found
It's not the easiest especially if you're not from Dubuque. If anyone needs directions, just ask and I'll help get you there. HQ isn't fancy, but it is downtown on a one-way street. The elevator works most of the time. I heard Vilsack got stuck in it. Oops! They know how to unjam it now. That's what they tell me anyway. I've had no problems.

The listening session was good. I was late because of a family event, but he did get to me and I asked a few questions. He was very interested and answered the questions well. I enjoyed the part I got to attend. It's awesome to feel heard by a US senator. We need more like him!

7. Great to hear and welcoe to DU
Feel free to tell other people from Dubuque about my blog, Iowa for Feingold. Just tell them to search on Yahoo or Google for Iowa for Feingold and they will get to it. The address is http://iowafeingold.blogspot.com, but it is hard to remember.

6. Yes they were
and I talked to your County Chair about you. That would have been a great day if I could have seen Sen. Feingold and met 2 DU'rs all in the same day. That would have ranked right up there with the day I met rurallib and Debi when Sen. Feingold spoke in Iowa City in April. I think I am seein a pattern here.

8. Oh heavens! What did my County Chair have to say about me?

I'm the youngest executive board member, so sometimes I wonder how they feel about me. Ya know?

I've just simply been in awe of all the folks here in Clinton COunty and the First District as I have become involved at progressively higher levels.

Including Iowa Duers. :yourock:

This joker thinks I am just a keyboard warrior! lol

9. Feingold recorded a Podcast while he was here
Sen. Feingold recorded a Podcast this weekend while he was traveling from Clinton to Davenport. He explains the importance of the elections in Iowa this year and he gives some details about the Patriots Corps.

You can see the Podcast here:

On the Progressive Patriots Fund site at http://www.progressivepatriotsfund.com/content/425/feingold-travels-to-iowa

I also got an email that goes into more detail about the Patriot Corps.

The Patriot Corps will train energetic staff to help progressive candidates in tough elections. After we train them, we'll send them out to the states where they can make a difference working with the campaigns already in place. I've always depended on a strong grassroots field network to win my campaigns in Wisconsin, and I'm proud of helping other candidates win the same way: door to door, neighbor to neighbor.

Are you or anyone you know interested in being part of the Patriot Corps? While we're looking for organizers with experience, we're also hoping to hire young activists with a willingness to work hard to bring victory home this fall. If you or someone you know would like to apply, please visit our application online on our website at http://news.progressivepatriotsfund.com/t/65788/41802/853/0/.
