Edited on Sun Oct-17-04 04:41 PM by TaleWgnDg
Massachusetts congressional debates - WGBH-TV, "Greater Boston w/ Emily Rooney," airs weeknights 7:00 PM EDT on Channel 2, and re-airs midnight EDT on Channel 44 . . . two nights of Congressional debates:

1.) Tuesday, October 19 - debate between the candidates for the Third Congressional District with incumbent Rep. Jim McGovern (Democrat) and challenger Ron Crews (Republican).

2.) Thursday, October 21 - debate between the candidates for the Seventh Congressional District with incumbent Rep. Edward Markey (Democrat) and challengers Kenneth Chase (Republican) and James Hall ( ? ).

Due to the nature of news and public affairs programming, the Greater Boston broadcast schedule is subject to change. For the most recent information, always check "Greater Boston" web site at www.wgbh.org/greaterboston.

1. thanks!
I'll kick this and ask a question...

Are these races seriously contested? Here in John Olver's district, it's hard to tell there's even an election coming up, but I've been wondering about the rest of the state.

the incumbents to return to office. We like their politics. Olver, yes. Markey, yes. McGovern, yes.

That nutcase, Crews, is an ex-state legislator from Georgia who learned that it's easier to make money w/ his "foundation" monies that bash gays across America. Crews landed in Massachusetts to activate his viciousness against gays and gay marriage but failed. He was lobbying with the Catholic Church and various other religious entities who want to combo their religion into our laws.

Crews is so reactionary that I doubt anyone is taking his candidacy seriously. After all, this is Massachusetts!

edited to add: here's further stuff on Crews at this DU thread: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=158x1206
