Democratic Town Committees: what are your annual dues ?? |
|
Edited on Sun Jan-30-05 09:27 PM by welshTerrier2
I just joined the Ashland Democratic Committee and found myself embroiled (yes, already) in a debate about what the annual dues should be ... they are thinking of raising the dues from $5 to $10 per year ... i suggested $25 to give us at least a small operating budget ... i believe there are either 35 or 36 full members on the committee ...
oh, btw, i also suggested providing a "no questions asked" hardship exemption ... if you want one, you get one ...
What are the dues for your town and what town are you in ???

and it's voluntary. I think most folks who actively show up pay up. Plus you throw in a dollar a meeting unless you bring someone or are a first timer.

7. can anyone else provide info on this ?? |
|
so far, i've only received dues information for 2 Massachusetts' towns on what dues are charged for members of the Democratic Town Committee ...
that won't be enough to make a convincing argument to my town ...
thanks for any help you can provide ...

9. I'll get back to you on dues - it might go up |
|
Right now in in Hingham it's between 25-35 dollars
I can't be more specific because there is a regional group we belong to and I might be confusing the two
I'll know more after I pay mine on 2/10

11. I'll let you know when I find out. |

I joined my town's DTC as an associate member in the summer, but they are so disorganized that nobody has asked me yet to pay my dues, or even told me about them.

Generally once a year, dues are collected, if you are a new member, an associate member they may wait until that cycle comes around.
Hopefully with Gov. Dean taking the Chair, there will be more emphasis put on the local committees and building from the grassroots.
