News Advisory:

WHO: The Religious Coalition for the Freedom to Marry, a group of more than 600 individual clergy and congregations from major faith traditions who support marriage equality for gay and lesbian couples.

WHAT: Awards presentation at the State House honoring Sen. Marian Walsh, Rep. Marie St. Fleur, Episcopal Bishop Thomas Shaw, the Unitarian Universalist Association (accepted by UUA President, Rev. William Sinkford) and Rabbi Daniel Judson.

WHY: For their outstanding work and leadership in supporting marriage equality for gay and lesbian couples as a civil right and in affirming the religious liberty for all faith traditions by opposing the anti-gay constitutional amendment. Each recipient will receive an award that reflects their unique contribution.

RCFM Freedom of Religion Award Honoree: Sen. Marian Walsh and Rep. Marie St. Fleur

RCFM Building Bridges Award: Episcopal Bishop Thomas Shaw

RCFM Peace and Justice Award: Unitarian Universalist Association

RCFM Signer's Award: Rabbi Daniel Judson

This is part of the RCFM's 7th Anniversary Celebration.
