Found this group through AFSC. Are there any DU members? If you are a member, please PM me.

Since The President declared the war in Iraq to be over, the activities of Worcester Peace works have changed. In Iraq, Americans and Iraqis die every day. Worse, it is clear that the President and those around him have lied to us and to the world about the "Weapons of Mass Destruction."

After a year and a half of frantic activity with demonstrations, educational events, meetings we are now able to think about more long range projects of opposing the increasing militarization of our country and the diversion of resources urgently needed to improve the lives of ordinary citizens, to the military and to the large corporations that sponsor this administration.

A good deal of support for the current government policies comes from persons misinformed by our mass-media. We are beginning to try to circulate more even handed information about the world and about our role in it as well as the hijacking of the government by right-wing ideologues.

If you have energy to share in this work, come to our weekly meeting in Room 001 in Jonas Clark Hall on the Clark University campus, Sunday nights at 6:00 pm, or send us an e-mail at worcpeaceworks@hotmail.com
