This is purely politics. The USA has NO PLAN whatsoever for EVER withdrawing from Iraq.
Why in the world would you illegally invade and occupy a sovereign, non-hostile nation (YET SAFEGUARD only The Oil Ministry), install a puppet (and unrepresentative)regime and build 14 PERMANENT military bases?
So you can leave?
It is going to prove mighty handy for the USA a couple years down the line to have these bases conveniently positioned between the Middle East Oil and Caspian Sea Natural Gas regions...
The USA will NEVER leave Iraq willingly. If you do not believe this, you are either an idiot or hopelessly naive.

I understand that you believe the USA will not voluntarily leave Iraq. Are you saying we are idiots or hopelessly naive because we are working towards this anyway? I want to check this out before responding futher. Thank you.
