PuraVidaDreamin posted a thread in the Massachusetts forum on 6-4-2005 titled "So anyway today I was protesting on 28 and a cop.." Here's a link to her original post:

I had PMed her that I was going to be down on the Cape Friday & could join her if she wanted company. She gladly accepted my offer & we spent two hours along the side of Route 28 in Bourne. If you are not familiar with the area, it's summertime & there is lots of traffic with folks headed to the Cape for summer vacation time.

We were not harassed by the police at all; at least two local cruisers, three Staties and one Sheriff's car came by without stopping. We got a number of thumbs up, a few birds and lots of folks looking at our (her) signs.

I would guess at least 1,000 cars passed in the two hours we were out there. Hopefully, a few folks may become curious enough to seek out the truth.

A young lad came by on a bicycle & stopped to talk with us for a bit. It was most fortuitous, as we are to share with you what the folks on Rt. 28 saw today.

Thank you, PuraVidaDreamin, for letting me join you today.

1. Gotta plan in the works for Labor Day- Who is in?
I will post later about some prelim. plans to line up near the Bridge/Bridges on Labor Day, if there is lots of interest generated.

Every year the tradition has locals lining up over some of the overpasses with signs bidding tourists bon voyageee. I believe we need to take that tradition and turn it into one hell of a freeway blog!

Thinking a pep-rally BBQ at my house- or post celebratory.
I could even get my kids band to perform for us (Love their name-
Cowboy Jesus) I would try to hook folks up with Camping, or hotels ideas, and heck you can even camp/stay at my house.

So- still in developmental stage

But I LIKE it!

2. Count me in.
I live in the Boston area & would be happy to provide a ride to the event. (I have a Mustang, so one person will be comfortable & the other two will have to sit on their legs.)

3. Thanks for all your efforts you guys!
The only time I would be down the Cape this summer would be for our niece's 16th Birthday, around the end of July; when we get an invitation I'll check this board again

Birthday parties are never actually on birthdays anymore, has anyone else noticed that?

Are you planning on doing this every weekend?
