Mass. home prices fall in September
The median selling price for a single-family house was $360,000 in September, down 4 percent from $375,000 in August. That was the first monthly price drop since February, though prices were still higher than they were a year ago. The number of single-family home sales that closed in September was 4,464, roughly equal to year-ago sales.

Fer gosh sakes don't give em any more ideas of what they can blame us for...

I got this delightful quote in my e-mail today: "Homosexuality leads to bestiality, animal sacrifice and cannibalism." Former (Arizona) State Representative Barbara Blewster. (Don't worry, it was from a pro-gay group trying to scare up donations with a scary Halloween theme)

2. is the slump in Boston, or in other areas?
Parts of Western Mass have been depressed for quite a while, haven't they? Springfield, for example, and Holyoke?

3. Gee, you wonder if the eager assessor bastards who have raised
the value of the homes of seniors so that they cannot qualify for a circuit breaker tax cut will run around and REASSESS them downwards...of course, that cuts into the tax collections of the cities and towns, so I won't hold my breath!
