Because John Bonifaz is all these at once--a co-founder of AfterDowningStreet.org, the lawyer who fought for the Ohio recount, the peace activist who sued to stop the war, and the author of a brilliant book on the case for impeaching Bush and Cheney. We know him well -- because we are the other four original AfterDowningStreet.org co-founders, and some of us have fought for justice side-by-side with him for years.

John is also the founder of the National Voting Rights Institute, and one of the early architects of the "clean money" concept for freeing our elections from the corruption of big, corporate donations.

Now he's running for Secretary of State of Massachusetts. It's not often we get the chance to help a freedom fighter, a true anti-warrior, run for office. When a candidate like this comes along, a candidate for a winnable state-level seat who will help shape the national scene, we need to help him and help him early!

Massachusetts has a low limit of $500 per year--so those of you who can afford even $50 per month could max out by the time the election arrives this November. But the more you give right away, the more it's worth to the campaign.
