Special Event This Friday with US Rep. Jesse Jackson, Jr.
Edited on Tue Feb-07-06 12:52 PM by paineinthearse

Date: Friday, February 10, 2006
Time: 8:30AM Refreshments/9:00AM Program
Location: Freedom House, 14 Crawford Street, Dorchester (617-445-3700)

Join John Bonifaz, Democratic candidate for Massachusetts Secretary of State, and Congressman Jesse Jackson, Jr., for a Town Hall Meeting to discuss issues key to the revival of our democracy.

Congressman Jesse Jackson, Jr. has had the honor of serving in the United States House of Representatives since December of 1995. He is a member of the Appropriations Committee, and serves on its Foreign Operations, Export Financing and Related Programs subcommittee as well as the Labor, Health and Human Services, Education and Related Agencies subcommittee. He is a leading advocate of voting rights.

For over a decade, John Bonifaz has been a powerful voice and dedicated leader working with people throughout Massachusetts and across the country to protect the right to vote, demand a full recount in Ohio, overhaul the nation's campaign finance system and broaden citizen participation in the democratic process.

John's life's work has centered on protecting our right to vote and returning voters to power. At this event, he will focus on his plan to establish a Voters' Bill of Rights and ensure that every vote is counted, the war in Iraq's effect on our democracy and greater corporate accountability.
