Anyone know about "Mission E4" - fundamentalist churches in MA?
You can check their website:, www.missione4.org, for locations of their
churches.

My question: are these guys home grown or an "implant", funded from
out of state.

Also, their website (showering now) points you to "Battle Cry", which is
some "rescue teens from Satan" kind of site that references Santorum.

Basically, these people have popped up at work, and I need some
ammunition.

Thanks,

arendt

1. Very questionable- check this paragraph out from their website
(The bottom prgh- shows you who has written endorsements for the book their
pushing- should tell you all you need to know)

Mission E4 has become one of the organizations that are sending out the Battle Cry for this generation of young people. Statistics show that if something doesn't change drastically over the next 5-7 years, only 4% of this generation will be followers of Christ. Think of what this means for the generations to come, only 4%. The youth of our generation are being attacked unlike any other time in the history of our country. The things that confront them on the internet, television, the music, and so many other venues are deplorable. We encourage every Christian to answer the call of a generation in need!

Ron Luce with Teen Mania Ministries has written a book called "Battle Cry for a Generation". I encourage all believers to read this book with endorsements from Ted Haggard, Senator Rick Santorum, Kay Arthur, David Barton, Josh McDowell, Jack Hayford, Joyce Meyer, Willie George, and many others within both Christian leadership and the political arena.

2. Yes, I agree. But I'm looking for personal interactions + funding sources
Does anyone know if these guys are local (homegrown and self-funded)
or a "transplant" (funded by national fundie orgs, staffed by national
fundie staffers)? Any personal stories about interactions with church
members?

Knowing whether they are idealistic amateurs or cynical professionals
would help me figure how to play this.

Thanks

arendt

About Teen Mania

Teen Mania, founded in 1986 and headquartered in Garden Valley, TX, is not affiliated with one specific denomination, but works with all denominations. Each year, youth groups from over 50 denominations attend one of the many ministry activities such as Acquire the Fire youth events. And this:

Tocquigny Named Agency-Of-Record for Teen Mania
PR Newswire 02-13-2006

AUSTIN, Texas, Feb. 13

AUSTIN, Texas, Feb. 13 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Teen Mania Ministries, a non-profit Christian youth organization, has named Austin-based marketing agency and measurement consultancy Tocquigny its agency of record. Tocquigny will help the organization re-launch its Battle Cry(TM) brand with the goal of spreading its message to 31 million teens across America.

"This is both very similar and completely different from anything we've ever done," said Yvonne Tocquigny, Chief Executive Officer of the agency. "We will be implementing many familiar tactics, such as research, a new Web site and marketing collateral, but we've never identified goals like decreasing the number of teen suicides or curbing alcohol use among teens. It's a very exciting, inspiring campaign."

Tocquigny's program will work in tandem with a series of multi-day "dome events" hosted by Teen Mania attracting up to 40,000 attendees. The events feature popular Christian bands in locations like San Francisco, Detroit and Philadelphia with the purpose driving teenagers online to create their personal Battle Cry to affirm their commitment to the coalition and spread the message to others. Specifically, Teen Mania aims to recruit 100,000 churches to join its Battle Cry coalition by the end of the year.

According to Ron Luce, President and Founder of Teen Mania Ministries, "Today's generation of teenagers are facing a crisis of faith and we believe alarm and outrage are not enough -- we must take action." He continued, "We chose to work with Tocquigny on this project for their depth of interactive expertise. We plan to target all the new technologies popular among teens with our message -- podcasts, cell phones, iPods -- and Tocquigny's expertise in developing and deploying interactive technologies will be vital to success."

Research for the program is currently underway and the first elements are expected to launch in March 2006.

4. First things first.
Edited on Thu Feb-16-06 03:08 AM by TaleWgnDg
.
1.) missione4.org expressly states on its "about" webpage a list of Board of Directors. I suggest doing googles on em all. See if you can find who's backing them, monetarily. Or at least who they are associated with . . . elsewhere in order to connect the dots. Don't turn a blind eye to wikipedia as well! Follow the money trail.

2.) "Mission E4 Inc." as cited on their "about" webpage (bottom) should be listed at the Massachusetts Secretary of State's Office as either (a.) a domestic (Massachusetts incorporated) corporation or (b.) as a foreign (to Massachusetts) corporation (meaning it's incorporated in some other state but not Massachusetts). http://corp.sec.state.ma.us/corp/corpsearch/CorpSearchSummary.asp?ReadFromDB=True&UpdateAllowed=&FEIN=000889144

"MISSION E4, INC." is incorporated by the state of Massachusetts as a non-profit corporation w/ corporate ID # 000889144 . . . see other pertinent info at the Secty's webpage that I pulled up (above). Do these names add to the list? Google em too, if so. Again, follow the money trail. Always follow the money trail.

Typically, these religion-into-law types who make money off the backs of the down-trodden by minority-bashing, leave quite a wide and long trail because their egos are so damn unhealthily large. Thus, they it shouldn't be too difficult to find some meaty background *stuff* on em.

Good luck.

edited to add: Crap! Those SOBs in TX charge to access their Secty of State's corporate filings. See TayTay's (above) DU post wherein TayTay mentions "Teen Mania, founded in 1986 and headquartered in Garden Valley, TX" . . . oh, well, maybe google or wikipedia will give you names.

However, teenmania (on its "about" webpage) lists its Board of Directors . . . http://www.teenmania.org/corporate/index.cfm?fuseaction=corporate.boardOfDirectors

And, follow-up on this webpage too for further names, associations, or whatever including the religious organizations listed: http://www.teenmania.org/corporate/index.cfm?fuseaction=corporate.financialPrinciples

Further names etc here: http://www.teenmania.org/corporate/index.cfm?fuseaction=corporate.correspond

Again, good luck in connecting the dots.

6. Oh. And, here's another little ditty . . .
.
Want to know who has registered* a domain name**? If so, then download this little ditty: http://www.karenware.com/powertools/ptlookup.asp (I am not recommending it just merely telling you that I use it. It's free.)

*registered = the person who's name is on record for a domain name.

** domain name = for example, "democraticunderground" of democraticunderground.com
