Romney using the healthcare plan as political fodder for his |

presidential ambitions. Anyone with low to moderate income will cringe at this plan. Todays Globe states that coverage will be about $325.00 per month for an individual. This is no better than the no-name policies that are out there now. Does anyone in the legislature realize how much money that figure represents as it is deducted from an average wage-earners paycheck? How about the retired folks, you know, those not on Medicare yet. It will still eat up all their Social Security check. Note to Legislature, please have a cross section of people on your planning and implementation board as you design this plan. Get people on board who recognize that $325.00 a month is a lot of money, it is not just "recreation and leisure" funds from our monthly budget. And all the hoopla about signing this proposal into law now? He will ride this bandwagon until the election and use the publicity for all it is worth. I read that the health plan will be 3 years in the making. Isn't the celebration a little premature for those of us in health insurance limbo right now. Speed and affordability are key to getting this thing going. Somehow I doubt the governor will be spending much time on this. Its a big country and he has to start his pre-race campaigning now....or he already has.

2. NObody knows what the coverage will be |
|
Probably huge deductible that will prevent people to get preventive care as well as a selection of the healthy people.
Bottom line: those who will really need healthcare the most probably will not be able to get it and those who will get it probably will not use it until it is too late.
