Need a ride to Columbus Saturday? I have room!
I am going to Columbus this Saturday for the rally and I have room for 2 to 4 people in my car. I live in Grass Lake, and will be happy to pick people up around here, in Ann Arbor, or Ypsilanti, or anywhere along the way. Please respond if you are interested in a ride - you can either post here or send me a PM. I don't have my exact timing worked out, since, as of now, I am going alone (which seems like a waste of space). I imagine I will leave pretty early Saturday morning (8 or 9 am) and come back soon after the rally (arrive home late evening?). Maybe with a quick lunch or dinner somewhere in Columbus or on the way back. I am an easygoing traveler, and I don't mind hanging out with a stranger (as long as you promise you're not a creep!). I hope to hear from someone, since my friends are all flaking out on me. It would be nice to split the gas money, although it isn't a requirement since I'm planning on going anyway.

If you don't know what I'm talking about, check this out!

RALLY! "Investigate all 88 counties, Litigate, Re-Count, Recuse”

Saturday, December 4th,
Columbus, OH
1:00 PM,
Ohio Statehouse Lawn
East Broad & South High Streets,
Columbus, Ohio

We demand that every vote be counted accurately from the Nov 2nd election. We demand a full re-count of Ohio's votes and a thorough investigation of all reported irregularities and discrepancies and charges of voter disenfranchisement throughout the state. The right to vote is a civil right and in a democracy no abridgement of that right can be tolerated. In Kiev, hundreds of thousands of demonstrators are on the streets, staying there overnight in the bitter cold, bringing the government to a halt and the world to attention, refusing to let democracy die. There are people coming to Ohio from all over the country for this rally. Let’s do this.

SPEAKERS:
Greg Palast (journalist and author of The Best Democracy Money Can Buy),
Bill Moss (former Columbus school board member),
Bob Fitrakis (Columbus Free Press),
Reuben Herrera (Adelante - Latino/Latina Democrats),
Anita Rios (Green Party),
Cliff Arnebeck (lead litigant in the Contest of Election suit),
Jad Hummeidan (Council on American Islamic Relations),
Petey Talley (Ohio AFL-CIO) (invited),
Charleta Tavares (Columbus City Council member) (invited)

I was thinking of going too, but it seems pointless for me to go alone. I'm willing to drive my car if you get a lot of replies. I'm also willing to drive around the state early tomorrow morning to pick other people up. I live in Ann Arbor.

Edit: I can't PM you because I don't have posts. You can send an email to me at mccoyn@gmail.com

4. Where in north are you?
I'm in Traverse City and have political friends all around the north. Where are you at? Are you involved locally? If not, would you like to be?

5. I'm in Detroit....
thats pretty north to everyone south of me.
:)

And sure I would love to be more active politically. After the election campaign and spreading the word and volunteering...i'm not sure what to do and where now.
It was so easy just calling up a campaign hq.
