4. don't get me wrong. I have nothing against the great American past-time |
|
I enjoyed somewhat the 2-3 games I have seen in the Metrodome since it was built.
I just don't like it enough to say it's more important than other things.
Besides, voters already rejected public support of a stadium.

5. Well St. Paul rejected it... |

Not Hennepin COunty.... Here is a good editorial on reasons to support the stadium...I think it makes alot of sense...and points out that working with the Twins on getting a stadium built in no way compromises other priorities http://www.startribune.com/stories/1519/5377456.html

It almost sounds like: Pass it already. This is getting old. :)
I respect your point of view.

7. Getting it built doesn't mean it's more important than other things. |
|
It means that the stadium lobby, labor lobby and other lobbies have gotten their shit together enough to get it through the right channels.
Cynical, but true, and more power to 'em, I say.

13. Carl Pohlad can buy his own stadium |
|
He is a billionaire, he could pay for the stadium out of his own pocket and still be one of the richest men in Minnesota. There is no reason the working class citizens of Minnesota should pay a billionaires business expenses.

3. That's hilarious! They should both move to New Orleans |
|
New Orleans would kill for a professional football team, and might even like baseball.

Never ceases to amaze me how we can cut back on social services yet fleece the taxpayers for a sports complex. Let the owners put it up. Socialism for the wealthy, capitalism for the poor.
edit: I love football and baseball but c'mon let the wealthy pay for their own toys. I guess this is the one advantage of living in a state without a professional sports franchise.
