I had the same problem when I didn't bring a tripod. Still fun and colorful though. The last shot is really something.

I was downtown too and from the looks of the pics, we weren't all that far apart. I led a group of bikers on a night ride to watch the fireworks and we parked our bikes at the bottom of the Science Museum and watched from there. Looks like you were further south and a bit closer to the river than we were. Too bad we couldn't have hooked up.
BTW, great pics. And I completely agree with what you said in the photography forum about biking to see the fireworks. It's the only way to go. It's much less hassle and afterwards, you can hop on the trail and avoid all the traffic. Not to mention that night rides absolutely rawk. ;)

bastard jellyfish got into the fridge and stole all my beer! Oh well, dealing with the technicolor jellyfish invasions are just one of the occupational hazards of being a St. Paulite.
Great photos, hope you had fun at the Taste. I dislike crowds too much to go myself.
