Philly thieves detour Minnesota cycles
You would like to think that now that they know what they had, the thieves would be a bit ashamed.

A shipment of massive touring motorcycles destined to be ridden by a group of 28 Minnesotans -- including three retired police chiefs -- in a memorial event for the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks was stolen -- truck and all -- early Tuesday near Philadelphia. Within hours, however, all but two of the bikes had been recovered and at least three people were in custody.

The shipment is thought to have been worth at least $1 million. But that's nothing compared with what the bikes meant to their owners.

"I'm glad they've got 'em and I don't," Fred Stahl, retired police chief of Inver Grove Heights, said of the police who have suspects in custody. "The thing about these cycles is, you put your time and talent into them. I've invested almost $6,000 beyond the price of the bike. It's such a personal attack."
