Medved on the patriot, asking why is MN blue?
And then arguing with everyone who tries to explain it.

It's blue because blue *works*, Michael. We're living, breathing, growing proof that a liberal attitude and political system works best.

Geeze.

1. It's our Scandinavian and dissident German heritage
Uff da, making such a fuss!

2. That too.
My father used to say that when the Scandanavian immigrants settled somewhere, the first thing they built was a church. The second was a school.

I don't doubt that our very high graduation and literacy rates contribute markedly to our liberal tilt. After all, once you really learn how to reason, most conservative arguments don't last very long.

3. And now don't forget the cooperatives!
That was the third thing they built. :-)

4. Because Medved is a fucking moron with a bad moustache

Minnesotans strive to be as different from this douchebag as possible.

Medved is a worthless piece of shit. Easily the most annoying and whiny conservative talk show host around today.

Has that weasel ever been to Minnesota anyway?

5. Looks too much like John Stossel
Medved is one of the more dumber radio wingnuts, along with that prick Hannity.

6. Wow a lot of us were listing to wing nut radio at the same time
I tried to call in to agree with a caller that said "Minnesota Nice". Dems care about all people, not the few. We want good education for future generations, health care available for all, equal rights for all.

I kept getting a busy signal.

7. Because we don't believe stupid is just good enough
And we don't tolerate asses who try to lie to us about everything from weapons of mass destruction, to the evil of public education, to the pathetically codependent fantasy of poor people living in luxury with new caddies and 50" plasma TVs.

We know that the estate tax affects less than 5% of all estates, and that it's a lie that family farms are put at risk by it.

We know that Iraq was Bush's big lie that didn't have anything to do with 9/11. We know that building permanent military bases in Iraq while closing them here is ass-backwards if you're supposed to be protecting the "homeland" mein Fuhrer.

We know that privatizing Iraq is what the pirates were really after, illustrated by watching as they machine an Islamic fundamentalist repressive state dominated by a few corporate toadies to the BFEE. We know the occupation government of Paul Bremer illegally abrogated national ownership of Iraqi resources.

We know that top-down trickle-down crumb-tossing by the rich is a farce that doesn't work to lift the boat higher for everyone.

We know that a 300 to 1 ratio of corporate owners to line workers in real wages means historic concentration of wealth in the hands of the rich is continuing, leading, as it did in the 1920s, to a collapse of the economy as the hoarding rich fritter away our world as easily as Paris Hilton gives head.

We know that a capitalism that tries to sell the idea that the only way it can thrive is by a barbaric implementation of government-sponsored lawlessness under the guise of "deregulation" is a capitalism that is already so deathly ill it might never recover.

And we know that the Republicans' "me first and only" philosophy is so destructive to the world we have to share together that it must be roundly derided, spit upon, and ground into the earth under the boots of real people banding together to take back their communities, businesses, and schools from these crooks at every chance we get.

But that's a start, anyway.

10. Sounds like the rant I was giving my windshield
while listening to that crapola.

Of course, in my imagination, I had to pin Medvedhead to the studio wall with my hand around his neck while I was explaining. That just reinforced the Minnesota Nice part of my argument.
