What's the deal on donating goods for the evacuees in Minn? |

The last I heard (at Kare11 news) was that they only wanted new clothes and new toys (with the tags still on). I was going to send a lot of used, but still in excellent condition, toys and children's clothes for some of the people living up here due to Katrina, but now I'm not so sure.
I can always just donate them to Goodwill or Sal. Army, I suppose, but I was hoping to give them directly to the folks up here w/o anything to speak of.
Does anyone know whether used clothing/toys will be taken, or will only new things be accepted?
eta: The displaced people deserve to have new things, but realistically, I can either buy them a few new items, or donate upwards of hundreds of items. Seems to me a little practicality would go a long way here.

I just saw that no evacuees are coming to Minnesota after all. Not on a large scale, anyway.
