Pawlenty doesn't want the Vikings to leave. He cares not for Ford, however |
|
After all, Pawlenty said he wasn't going to let the Twins or Vikings leave on his watch: I don’t want to lose the Vikings and the Twins on my watch,” (of course, some cursory digging shows that taxes would go up in counties and cities getting the stadiums. Didn't Timmy NoTool say something about no taxes? )
Pawlenty: MN won't overpay for Ford plant
ST. PAUL (AP) - Governor Pawlenty paid a quick visit to Ford Motor Company headquarters in Michigan today but said the state won't simply throw out cash to keep the Ford Ranger truck plant in St. Paul.
Pawlenty and two top aides met for more than an hour with three Ford executives in Dearborn, Michigan -- including Anne Stevens, the company's executive vice president and chief operating officer for the Americas.

1. He seems to be waiting for concrete developments |

before considering future policy with the Ford plant. Governing on speclation is not a wise thing.

2. Timmy-the-tool is shitty at grandstanding. |
|
Does anyone really believe the Ford execs didn't investigate every cost-effective means of keeping these plants? If they thought there was profit to be made from renovating this plant in order to make other kinds of vehicles, it would be done. They haven't been sitting around waiting for ideas from Timmy or any of the other governors beating a path to their door.
