Any MN DUers interested in a media or political focus group? |
|
Occasionally, I participate in consumer taste tests or focus groups through research and marketing firms. They generally involve very little time and pay fairly well.
I received a call yesterday from a research firm and the screening questions were primarily about where I get my news and what I think are our most urgent political issues. I qualified to participate in a two-hour group early next month.
They said they need more people, especially between 18 and 39, and to give out their number to anyone who is interested in participating.
This may be a good opportunity to have our view and priorities on record, PLUS, it pays $75.00.:)
If anyone is interested, PM me and I'll give you the name and phone number. I could probably give a ride to a DUer who is on my way, if you end up in the same session.

1. I'd be interested, but I am outside the age range. |

4. I'd be interested as well. |

The date range thing may only mean they have plenty of Boomers and need to get other age ranges to make the study complete.

3. The key word is "especially." They are looking for anyone... |
|
I think it's just that they don't have enough 18-39 year olds.

5. If those are the folks downtown, I've participated in two of their focus |

groups, only one of them political.
I got $75 for one session and $85 for the other, CASH in an envelope. They also called me for a two-day focus group that would have paid $400, but I was all booked up with work. :-(

6. I did a group with a downtown firm.... |
|
that measured our reactions to potential (new) local TV news anchors. I ended up realizing that the station had probably already chosen the guy they wanted (not my choice), but it was very interesting to see the process. And the cash came in handy, too. :-)
