What Happened To Wendy Wilde
I tuned in at 8 am Fri Jan 27 and it was Ember Reichgott
Junge. No mention of Wendy Wilde ... She is not on the front
page of airamericaminnesota.com or on the Schedule page except
for a Best Of on Saturday and Sunday which they probably
missed changing.

I don't miss her one bit because I think her hyper-highstrung
hysterical histrionics and mangling of the truth gives
persuadables / moderates / swing-voters / whatever a bad image
of progressives, our values, and our credibility. I want to
win elections.

mentioned her.

3. Yesterday they said she was sick
You are correct in that she has gone "missing" on
their website. I wonder what she did to piss off Janet Robert?
As far as I could tell, she had her nose firmly up Robert's
ass.

I know radio is cruel, but damn. Maybe her ratings weren't
good enough.

Seeking New Opportunities
Thank you for your generous and kind email.

So that misinformation doesn't go around, I want to tell you
why I decided to leave the show to look for other
opportunities. The studios are located in a mold-infested
basement, and management had a construction crew tear out the
moldy basement walls and carpet, but that actually threw mold
spores into the air and the mold dust is everywhere. Hepa
filters helped some but I continue to get sick.

For the first 8 months my office was in the same moldy
basement so I was spending 8-9 hours a day in the moldy air,
and I have developed an extreme allergic reaction to mold.
Management had the grounds graded to try and stop the frequent
basement flooding, and since September when the basement walls
and moldy carpet were removed, it actually got worse for me. I
have been on numerous courses of antibiotics for sinus
infections, and working with blinding headaches and other
symptoms. When I am away from the basement studios I gradually
get better again with a lot of bedrest. That is no life, and
my family misses my company and attention. I was willing to
broadcast from an upstairs office or even from home, but I was
no longer willing to work sick. I offered my resignation over
the holidays, and was asked to wait, but when I got sick again
this week I realized my health needed to come first, and
resigned.

I plan to seek other opportunities as soon as I recuperate a
little, and may return to radio, or explore podcasting,
satellite, and have begun writing a book about my experiences
with this startup radio station as well.

I'm always pleased to correspond with you, and will miss the
show and the local voices of reason, vision, and truth more
than you will ever know! email wendywilde@gmail.com

Please enjoy the audio clips on my Listen page, I hope to add
new productions in coming days.

5. That stinks
It is sad that they were not able to accomidate her. You can
broadcast anywhere with radio.

7. I'm wondering if this isn't the excuse they used to get rid of her.
(Yes, I'm paranoid.) When I turned on Ember this morning she
was about to start a "fascinating" segment on women
in government. Aren't there any current events she could be
discussing? Of course, last week I caught part of Wendy's
show where they were discussing postpartum depression. These
are not topics I tune into AM 950 to listen to.

Can't we please get a real Air America station?

9. I won't shed a tear
Wendy was horrid... I couldn't listem to her for more than 5
minutes and trust me I tried repeatedly.

Now that Al is broadcasting from MN, you'd think there would
be a local push (especially by Franken) to build 950. That our
he'll watch it die and buy it out. Janet Roberts was great for
starting the station but her censorship and her pushing out
Nick Coleman as well as only playing taped shows so she could
cut out anything pro choice hurts us more than it helps.

If the replacement lady is anything like the commercials I've
heard of her, I feel bad for anybody that listens every day.
Adding Steph was a great move though... she's the best.

I think it's hilarious that they're still using the website I
designed.

10. I'm not crying, either
Though it sounds like she was working in deplorable conditions
-- I have sympathy for that.

I listened to the show this morning and they were going on
about police in St. Paul or something like that. I wish they
would run the AAR feed instead.

I agree with you on Janet Roberts. I don't trust her at all.

11. Just had to stick my nose in here
I miss Wendy Wilde. She was great and had a great
understanding of what was happening around her in world
politics. She also kept up on MN politics very well.
I hope she heals up and gets back.
Thanks Katinmn for the information.
