Minneapolis! 'Stolen Honor' Heads Up!!
Conservative TV Group to Air Anti-Kerry Film

NEW YORK — The conservative-leaning Sinclair Broadcast Group, whose television outlets reach nearly a quarter of the nation's homes with TV, is ordering its stations to preempt regular programming just days before the Nov. 2 election to air a film that attacks Sen. John F. Kerry's activism against the Vietnam War, network and station executives familiar with the plan said Friday.

Sinclair's programming plan, communicated to executives in recent days and coming in the thick of a close and intense presidential race, is highly unusual even in a political season that has been marked by media controversies.

Sinclair has told its stations — many of them in political swing states such as Ohio and Florida — to air "Stolen Honor: Wounds That Never Heal," sources said. The film, funded by Pennsylvania veterans and produced by a veteran and former Washington Times reporter, features former POWs accusing Kerry — a decorated Navy veteran turned war protester — of worsening their ordeal by prolonging the war. Sinclair will preempt regular prime-time programming from the networks to show the film, which may be classified as news programming, according to TV executives familiar with the plan.

Executives at Sinclair did not return calls seeking comment, but the Kerry campaign accused the company of pressuring its stations to influence the political process.

8. That's definitely St. Paul
If that was Minneapolis, it would be Como Ave SE, and the ZIP code would be 55414. There's nothing at 1640 Como Ave SE in Minneapolis except perhaps Joe's Market, but I doubt the numbers go that high on the 1600 block. (I grew up over there.)

Note: This is my first post here. I've been lurking here for a few months now. It's good to find a Democrat-friendly board. I've been at Anandtech.com for years, but their Politics and News board is full of flames from both sides of the political spectrum, so the signal-to-noise ratio is relatively low. It's not so fun there anymore. :(

3. Done
Here's what I wrote:

I really hope you don't bow to the pressure of your parent company to air anti-Kerry trash from the swiftboat liars. Instead, why don't you air an unbiased breakdown of all of the issues. Don't be a pawn in Karl Rove's chess game.

Thanks... I'll be watching.

10. they changed the poll
Now it's "should John Kerry respond to the charges made against him by the former POWs?", which sounds a lot like "Have you stopped beating your wife yet?"

WB23 is goin' down!

11. contact all their advertisers
http://www.boycottsbg.com/advertisers/Default.aspx

this shit can't be allowed to go uncontested. email or call all of them and then get your friends/family to do the same. money is the only way to bring these pricks down. Sinclair already has an extremely low profit/revenue ratio the way it is. let's push them over the edge!!!

i'll try to post an updated list tomorrow. a couple of my unemployed friends will be watching wb23 all day.

13. My letter...
I am mortified that KMWB has decided to become the vessel for an hour long campaign commercial in an attempt to smear the integrity of a Presidential candidate. This is gutter politics. This is despicable. I have often appreciated KMWB in the past as an alternative to “news programming.” Your actions regarding this matter have made me realize that your channel is not a-political; in fact your station is a hostile partisan mouthpiece. Regardless of one’s political persuasion, KMWB’s decision to air this hatchet piece (of which was debunked on last night’s “Nightline”) is part of the poison that has made the American Electorate so cynical. Therefore I have joined the boycott of your station. No more Yugi-Oh. No more Smallville. No more Gilmore Girls. No more One Tree Hill. I am notifying your advertisers that I am boycotting their products and services if they continue to support a channel that veils an illegal campaign contribution as “news.” Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
