Most interesting result in Minnesota last night?
Obama going 2:1 over Clinton was a surprise, to be sure.

But the real shocker was Romney doubling up McCain. What message does that send Goobernor Timmy? That really surprised me. Ron Paul did pretty well too - lots of libertarian idiots in the MN Repub Party. Apparently though we see that of the grand GOP coalition (god, guns, & greed), it's the greed part that is most significant in this state.

1. I wasn't surprised
I saw lots of Obama bumperstickers around town in the past few months, lots of people waving Obama signs on street corners yesterday. One of my apartment neighbors is the precinct organizer for Obama, and he was going around asking everyone if they were going to caucus. I think Obama had a very well-organized campaign here.

H. Clinton's campaign was barely visible. I saw exactly one person standing on a street corner with a homemade sign yesterday.

2. I guess it wasn't Obama's victory that surprised me,
but the margin of it. I thought it would be ~10-15% or so. We got calls from the Clinton campaign every night for the past week. Only a mailing from Obama.

3. What I find most interesting is that
per the Secretary of State, 212,079 DFLers showed up and only 62,421 Republicans careed enough to come out.

4. I think we've been doubling their turnout nationwide
I don't have the numbers at my fingertips, but that's what I've heard. That fact alone should be chilling the marrow of Republican strategists.

But perhaps even more significant than the numbers is the passion. At my caucus, the air was crackling with energy and enthusiasm. It sounds as though that was the story almost everywhere.
