1. Once again, Nelson-Pallmeyer ran circles around Ciresi and Franken
My quick take on the debate:

Jack Nelson-Pallmeyer had well-articulated answers, real solutions for the problems facing us and fire in his belly. He also had some terrific statistics comparing the costs of the war in Iraq with what the same money could buy on the domestic front. Same with the tax cuts for the top 1%.

Ciresi had the lamest attempt at being clever when he quipped "It's not No Child Left Behind, it's No Child with a Dime" (get some new writers Mike). He chided Nelson-Pallmeyer for going after the rich several times. Imagine that coming from a multimillionaire lawyer.

Franken sounded like he was on tranquilizers, and seemed to have weak responses on the issues beyond traditional DFL soundbite-type responses. I think his debating skills have been vastly overrated.
